With the words of Yankee Doodle Dandy running through our heads, we prepared for a busy, yet rainy day! Our morning started with a trip to the nearby town of Wellington to take in their 4th of July parade. In my book, the day isn't complete without a parade. And, if you've ever been to Warroad, MN on this great holiday, you would know why! That is a town that does it up right. Parade, pancake breakfast, games and booths down by the lake, BBQ's going all over town, a street dance and then the most amazing fire works display over Lake of the Woods that you can imagine. So in the quest to provide my own children with similar memories of the 4th of July, we become the "find parade...will travel" family! We also topped off the day with a great BBQ but had to wait until the next night for our fireworks display thanks to a huge thunder storm. Here are a few pics of our own little firecrackers!!
