Tubby Time!

Just a few snapshots of some of our indoor activities now that it's a bit colder and the days are shorter! Hey...at least we're clean!!

Just laying around...

Here's a typical play date between Ryan and Bailey! Because Bailey isn't really a mover and a shaker anymore, Ryan will often put a "leash" around his large teddy bear, take him for walks and then rest a bit with Bailey! Here's a picture of Bailey still taking part in all the fun...or so we hope!

Surprisingly Twins

Who would have thought...Ryan was so excited to get to school today because he wanted to show Emmit his new Camo vest, Camo pants and Camo shoes. Well, as soon as we turned the corner to go into their classroom, he sees Emmit in his Camo vest and Camo pants. Given that we live six houses apart and these boys are best friends, you'd think we planned it. However...we did not! The boys got the biggest kick out of it!! :o)

Our little outdoors"boy" from the start!

(December, 2007)

Our 1st Snow...

Woo Hoo! Our first snow of the season! Our little boy promptly woke up at 6am (a bit unusual for Ryan standards) peeked out the window and asked if he could go outside! Who are we to say no! So while there are jammies underneath this warm coat, nothing could cover up his very cute smile!

Miss Boom Boom Pow!

Poor Baby Girl took a pretty big tumble off of Grandma's back step. Unfortunately, it was this sweet little face that stopped her fall! :o(

A Case of the Giggles!

Just a short little snippet of Kate cracking herself up as she feeds "YaYa" some Cheerios. However, it doesn't last long because once Ryan sees he's being recorded, you will notice him dramatically fall from his chair onto the floor! :o)

Happy Halloween

It's here! It's here! Who knows how long we've been counting the sleeps for Halloween! Who cares...it's finally here! And this is also the first year that this Mommy has given up the reigns to picking out Ryan's Halloween costume. Long gone are the days of cute little Tootsie Rolls, snuggly monkeys and darling puppy dogs! HELLO...Ninja! While it may not have been exactly what I would have picked, it was beyond fun making a date night out of taking Ryan to pick out his very own costume. He hemmed and hawed over just about everything...superman, batman, mummy, ghost...well, you get the picture! Once he decided on the Ninja, he was sold! And I must say, I've never seen a cuter Ninja in my life! After steering him away from a bloody sword (not so popular to bring to school), he settled on a nice, long clean one. Kate, however, is still under the "Halloween Controls" of her Mommy and therefore won't be picking her own costume for at least...3 more years. Gotta be fair, right!?! :o)

Pumpkin Carving

Not sure where the month of October went but I feel like we barely got this event in, too! But with all the craziness, it's still my favorite time of year! I love the hustle and bustle of this time of year. Who knew that with 2 kids, it could be even crazier! Here we are with our freshly picked pumpkins...oddly enough, Mommy was the only one who cleaned them out! Unless of course you see any seeds hanging, in which case someone else obviously had the job! Ryan enjoyed coming up with designs and Kate enjoyed...marshmallows! Where did they come from you wonder...why the hot chocolate, of course! :o) Happy almost Halloween everyone!!

Work and Fun in Denver!

When you have a quick one day training in Denver, why not spend the night, right!?! And why not pack up your Mom and little boy and make a night of it! Who doesn't love swimming, shopping and spending the night in a hotel! Ironically, one of Mom's best friends from high school was in town visiting her daughter so they came to the hotel for lunch. Ryan made some new friends and we were able to visit and catch up with Chris and Melanie Fichter, along with her kids Aidyn and Talyn. Here's my little boy by the pool with his "new" friends!

Catwalk Beware!

The new Desitin model is in town!

Costume Day for Ryan!

With Halloween fast approaching and with MN friends in town, Ryan got to wear his costume to school today! Ben and Lauren were able to join us for the parade! Could these three be any more cute! (Nope!!)

A SURPRISE visit from the Jaenisch Family

It's not everyday that we get a call from one of our favorite families asking if they can pay us a visit! Are you kidding me!?! ALWAYS!!
Via a silver Toyota Sienna, they packed up the van, loaded 2 precious kids; along with many movies, and hit the road! Thankfully, their trip was a good one and they reached Colorado in no time! To say that we were getting anxious would be an understatement! They arrived Thursday afternoon and were our guests until Saturday night! We took in day trips to Boulder, Estes Park and about one mile into Rocky Mountain National Park since we didn't know they were closed until AFTER we paid the entry fee! Still beautiful! And, just like their trip back in July of 2007, we found snow! The kids had a great time, the Mommies got in tons of visiting, Brian was the lone duck once Don left town and the biggest story of the weekend is all of us coming home to find Kate "neked" in her crib and Brian no where to be found. Turns out he was in the shower and Kate helped him show off his babysitting skills by pulling a fast one for the very first time. Oddly, she has yet to disrobe since! We still love you, Brian...just doesn't mean we'll let you forget it! :o) So before the snaps from the long weekend, we just truly want to give a shout out to the Jaenisch fam for taking time out of their busy lives to come and visit us! We LOVED every second of it...see you in June! Here's hoping Baby Jaenisch makes his or her arrival by then!!

Pumpkin Patch

Whew...almost missed getting this in this year! Between work trips, hunting schedules, and crazy weather, it almost slipped through our fingers! This year, we ventured to the "Something from the Farm" pumpkin patch. While it was better than last years, it was not better than the one 2 years ago. Looks like we'll be heading back to Wellington next year! Regardless, the kids had a great time, Grandma joined us, the weather was great and it wasn't that busy...always a plus! Here's a few pics that capture our day!

Bailey Gets Blessed!

“Blessed are you, Lord God, maker of all living creatures. You called forth fish in the sea, birds in the air and animals on the land. You inspired St. Francis to call all of them his brothers and sisters. We ask you to bless this pet. By the power of your love, enable it to live according to your plan. May we always praise you for all your beauty in creation. Blessed are you, Lord our God, in all your creatures! Amen.”

(I love belonging to a church where the animals are just as important as the people!)

Happy Anniversary to...

Adara & Chaz!
Wow, it's already been one whole year since the most beautiful wedding of 2009 occurred! I can still remember it all like it was yesterday! Beautiful weather, beautiful church, beautiful day, beautiful miniature flower girl and of course...Beautiful Bride! Loads of Love, Mr. and Mrs. Durgin! We think you're pretty darn cute together!

This was also the first time that many from Minnesota first met Baby Kate! She made quite the impression and we loved showing her off!

Another Rockies game!

At the spur of the moment, we received a call from my Mom's cousin, Janice asking if we could pick her up at the airport as she wanted to come and visit for a few days. Mom enjoyed having some family in town and the kids really liked having a new face around for awhile. We visited Estes Park, played some games, took in a picnic at one of our favorite parks and were also able to squeeze in another Rockies game! Ryan was game to take in another trip to Coors Field and Mom enjoyed her first game ever! We had a blast!!
