Shave and a Haircut...Two Bits

Oh, you know that most kids do it! You know it's a semi right of passage! But when it happens to your own, you can't help but lose your breath...even for just a bit. In fact, I have to admit I almost threw up! Not so much because of the incident itself, but because when your little guy has dark hair and a white scalp...it's just plain shocking! It reminds me how thankful I am that he's healthy because the spots of shaved hair made me think otherwise for just a spit second. Ironically, he had a "professional" haircut already scheduled that day! If only he'd held out for a few more hours...if only I had been home...if only we didn't own any scissors...if only he wasn't going to be a ring bearer in just 3 weeks...if only 3 year pictures weren't just around the corner...! Okay, that's a little much! But for the first 5 minutes, all of those thoughts entered my head! Now, I can see the innocence in it all and actually laugh! I mean why not, I did it myself as a kid!
